國民球團和替補外野手Chris Heisey之間的合約，終於在今天拍板定案，最後雙方確定以一紙1年140萬美元的合約再續前緣。雖然最後合約的改動和ESPN記者Jerry Crasnick上週報導的差異不大，但關於激勵獎金的部分，或許有可能再變動。
2016年Heisey多是以代打身分出賽，最令人印象深刻的表現，莫過於在季後賽首輪對戰道奇時轟出1發代打2分砲，讓國民看到晉級的一線生機，好表現也讓他季後能獲得一紙合約。
Heisey本賽季打擊率.216，轟出9發全壘打、17分打點，另外他除了能擔當代打外，還能守三個外野的位置，可說是一個相當好用的工具人。
今年再次挑戰國聯冠軍賽又失敗的國民，季末的首要任務就是鞏固原有的球隊陣容，並積極補強戰力薄弱的部分，用一張價格便宜的短約簽下Heisey來保持替補的戰力，可說是相當划算。
